· Author of numerous magazine articles and six books on photography, including Electronic Flash (for Eastman Kodak), and the recently-published two-volume opus The Manual of Close-up and Macro Photography.
· Consultant to Polaroid Corporation, and author of their book on 35mm instant photography.
· Frequent lecturer and workshop instructor at the International Center of Photography in New York City, and lecturer to numerous professional organizations and affinity groups.
· Established the undergraduate fine-art photography program at Stony Brook University. At that same institution was Supervisor of the Photo-Optics Laboratory.
· Over thirty-five years of extensive experience (see client list below) as a commercial photographer photographing all aspects of industry, technology, science and medicine, from surgery to skyscrapers, microchips to mining, pills to pipelines and X-rays, yarn and zebras.
· Photographed in all fifty states, twenty-four countries, Puerto Rico and Antarctica. Comfortable in an operating room or helicopter, hot air balloon or nuclear power plant, microchip fab or space shuttle assembly building, courthouse or morgue.
